Survive & Thrive the Winter Chill with Healthy Habits

January 2026 ~ 1-1-1 ~ All Things Possible

Welcome to January 2026 ~ a beautiful 1-1-1 gateway, where fresh beginnings, intention, and possibility align.

This is often the coldest month of the year, yet one of the most quietly magical.

The days are slowly growing longer, sunlight glistens across icy branches, and snow-covered landscapes invite us into a season of rest, reflection, and renewal.

After the high-stress, high-sugar holiday stretch, many bodies feel the impact through lowered immunity, fatigue, and emotional overload. Winter doesn’t ask us to push harder… it invites us to slow down and care more deeply.

So how do we do more than survive winter? What can we do to thrive?

Let’s explore a few healthy habits for life. You may also wish to investigate our Empowerment Coaching programs for additional support and guidance.

Healthy Habit #1 – What Are You Eating?

Winter nourishment begins with clean, wholesome food.

When possible, source eggs, milk, meats, and seasonal produce from a local farm store or farmers’ market. After 14 years in my own home, I recently discovered a charming market just five minutes away. Another hidden gem trucks in fresh seafood every Tuesday… proof that wonderful resources are often closer than we think.

Local food supports:
• Fewer preservatives and chemicals
• Fresher, season-based nutrients
• Less spoilage from bulk purchases
• Hard-working local farmers

Cleaner food = fewer toxins = more vibrant energy.

Healthy Habit #2 – What Are You Drinking?

While I still love my morning coffee, I’ve shifted from store-bought creamers to farm-fresh milk. As the day unfolds, consider transitioning from caffeine into hydration that supports your nervous system.

Try:
• Hot water with lemon (sometimes called “silver tea”)
• Warm ginger or herbal teas
• Filtered water with alkalizing systems such as Juuva’s water pitcher
Sunshine in a Bottle (homemade citrus wellness tonic) ~ enjoyed daily or when sniffles arise

We also make our own sparkling water and store it in stainless steel bottles, reducing plastic exposure and landfill impact. Small shifts truly make a big difference.

Healthy Habit #3 – What Are You Listening To?

Winter quiet can feel deeply nourishing or subtly isolating. While the fire crackles indoors, nature’s sounds rest beneath the snow.

Invite them back in:
• Play forest, ocean, or bird-song soundscapes
• Transition from holiday carols into uplifting music
• Reduce exposure to constant negative news

What you listen to influences what you think… and what you think shapes your experience. If you’re ready to refine inner dialogue, our upcoming NLP Empowerment Training offers powerful tools for conscious mindset shifts.

Healthy Habit #4 – How Are You Moving Your Body?

Winter is a time to slow down… and movement keeps energy flowing.

Consider:
• Your body thrives with motion that supports strength, flexibility and fluidity.
• Plan time to dance, stretch, spin, walk, or workout.
• Step outside and breathe fresh air, even briefly.
• A few minutes of movement each day supports circulation and joint comfort.

One favorite resource is Urban Pump, offering efficient, energizing workouts that fit beautifully in winter routines.

Move now… and greet spring ready to garden, hike, and play.

Healthy Habit #5 – What Are You Creating?

Winter is a sacred season for creation.

This is when I’ve written books, designed training programs, and organized spaces that felt overwhelming during busier months. Creativity keeps energy moving… even indoors.

Ask yourself:
• What do you long to learn or study?
• What has been waiting patiently for your attention?
• A book? A craft? Music? Art?
• Do houseplants need tending or closets long for order?

Create with your hands. Engage your mind. Creativity is medicine.

Winter Wisdom Reminder

Winter is a season of restoration.

Consider scheduling your annual Energy Clearing & Alignment session during this quieter season to release accumulated stress, strengthen your energetic field, and carry clarity and momentum into spring.

May this winter bring you health, peace, and gentle joy.

With warm wishes and Blessings of bright beginnings,
Lois Hermann
