Something is Shifting
There are moments in history when many people can feel that something is shifting.
We may not always be able to explain it logically, but there is a sense that the world is changing — that humanity is standing at a crossroads where our thoughts, choices, and actions matter more than ever.
Recently on the Inspiring Hope show, I had the great joy of sitting down with two dear friends and wise women, Gina Mazza and Judy Julin, to explore a concept we began calling “The New Now.”
The phrase came up spontaneously during one of our earlier conversations, yet it seemed to capture something many people are sensing today.
We are not simply living in “the now.” We are living in a new now — a time when awareness, discernment, and personal responsibility are becoming essential tools for navigating the world around us.
Staying Present While Staying Aware
For many years in spiritual teachings, we have heard the reminder to stay present in the moment. That wisdom still holds true. Being grounded in the present allows us to access clarity, peace, and inner guidance.
However, the New Now invites something more. It calls us to remain present while also staying aware of what is happening in the broader world.
It is not helpful to bury our heads in the sand or become consumed by fear and negativity. Instead, we are learning to observe events from a higher perspective — maintaining awareness without allowing outside circumstances to pull us into chaos.
In many ways, this is a balancing act between inner peace and outer awareness.
The Power of Personal Frequency
One idea that came up strongly during our conversation was the importance of managing our personal frequency. Our thoughts, emotions, and reactions influence not only our own well-being, but also the energy we bring into the spaces around us.
As Judy beautifully shared: “My greatest contribution right now is the management of my frequency.”
When we choose prayer, gratitude, reflection, and intentional practices such as breath work or sacred space, we elevate the energy we carry into the world. And that energy matters.
The work of consciousness researcher David Hawkins suggests that a single person operating from a higher level of awareness can influence thousands of others who may be vibrating at lower emotional states.
In other words, the way we choose to show up in the world has ripple effects far beyond what we may realize.
Discernment in a Noisy World
Another theme we explored was discernment.
Today, we are surrounded by information, opinions, headlines, and narratives competing for our attention. Some of it is helpful and truthful. Much of it is designed to provoke emotional reactions.
Learning to discern what is true — and what is simply noise — is becoming an essential life skill. Discernment is not judgment. It is the ability to pause, reflect, and ask deeper questions:
Does this resonate as true?
How does this feel in my body?
Is this information uplifting, empowering, or draining my energy?
When something feels off, we are wise to trust our intuition and step back before engaging. The New Now invites us to trust that inner knowing more fully than ever before.
Responding Instead of Reacting
One of the greatest challenges of our time is the temptation to react quickly to everything we see or hear. Social media, news cycles, and constant digital stimulation encourage immediate responses — often fueled by anger, fear, or frustration.
Yet wisdom lies in learning the difference between reaction and response. Reaction is immediate and emotional. Response comes from reflection.
When we pause, breathe, and consider our response carefully, we bring clarity and compassion into situations that might otherwise spiral into conflict.
This simple shift can transform how we move through the world.
Writing a New Story for Humanity
Perhaps the most hopeful message from our conversation is this: Humanity may be standing at the beginning of a new chapter.
Instead of repeating the same cycles of division, conflict, and fear, we have the opportunity to imagine something different.
As Gina shared so beautifully during the conversation, what if we became curious about creating a more beautiful world than the one we have known before?
Not through force or argument, but through conscious choices rooted in love, compassion, and cooperation. Curiosity itself can be a powerful catalyst for change.
Only Good Will Come of This
When we encounter challenges — whether personal struggles or global events — it can be easy to feel overwhelmed. Yet one powerful perspective shift can change everything.
When faced with difficulty, try asking yourself: “What if only good will come of this?”
Instead of assuming the worst, this mindset opens the door to learning, growth, and unexpected possibilities.
Life often teaches us through experiences that initially appear difficult. With time and perspective, many of those moments reveal themselves as stepping-stones toward deeper wisdom.
Living in the New Now
The New Now is not about perfection. It is about awareness. It is about choosing curiosity over fear, discernment over reaction, and compassion over division.
Each of us contributes to the collective energy of our world through the frequency we carry. And when enough people choose love, clarity, and conscious awareness, something remarkable begins to happen.
The future begins to shift. As we continue moving through these changing times, may we all remember to look up, stay positive, and be the light in someone’s day.
Only good will come of this.
Blessings of Awareness,
