The Essence of True Friendship

True Friends

Thinking about the nature of friendships on Valentines Day… I came to appreciate that true friends are precious and few. Here are a few thoughts to ponder when friendships shift and change. True friends are rare jewels in a world that often feels socially confusing and energetically cloudy.

We meet many people along our life journey. As the saying goes… some are here for a reason, some for a season, and a cherished few for a lifetime.

We gravitate toward one another through shared interests, divine timing, or what appears to be chance encounters. At times, we recognize someone at a deep soul level — as if we have known them before. Perhaps from another lifetime. Perhaps because their energy feels familiar.

Relationships as Mirrors

People enter our lives to assist in our growth, our healing, and our evolution. Some relationships arrive as mirrors.

There are individuals who seem needy, self-focused, or energetically draining. At times, we invite them into our circle because something within us resonates with their reflection. Perhaps we are healing a part of ourselves. Perhaps we feel called to help. Yet when giving becomes depletion, something sacred is out of balance.

Archangel Samael wisely advised: “You must take care of yourself. If you don’t take care of yourself, there’s nothing to share with others. You can’t give until there’s nothing left.”

True Giving

True giving flows from fullness, kindness without exhaustion.

There are also beautiful souls who model generosity and kindness. Yet even here, discernment matters. Are actions rooted in heartfelt service… or in the need to be seen? The difference lies in intention. Are we being human beings… or human doings?

As one who studies human behavior, I have learned the value of observing from a higher perspective. We are called to clear resentment from our own thoughts, for it disturbs our inner peace. At the same time, we are invited to cultivate discernment — to recognize what supports our well-being and what does not.

Maintaining inner harmony sometimes requires gently removing the influence of harmful energy from our sphere. Boundaries are never truly seen as rejection. They are forms of self-respect.

Valuing Differences

Though we naturally connect with others of similar vibration, differences are meant to be valued. A true friend may hold different opinions, perspectives, or ways of expressing themselves — yet still come from a place of mutual respect and heartfelt honor.

Real friends listen. They share openly. They appreciate one another’s growth. Who better to evolve with than someone willing to listen from the heart?

When a relationship becomes lopsided — when one gives and the other continually takes — it is time to restore balance for our mental, emotional, and spiritual well-being.

Sometimes restoration begins with distance. Sometimes it begins with shifting our thoughts. We intentionally fill our mental space with gratitude for those who show integrity, honesty, kindness, and peace.

Genuine Friendship

Cherish the friends who inspire you to be your authentic self. Appreciate those who celebrate your growth rather than compete with it. The more we honor genuine friendship, the deeper our self-trust becomes. And from that self-trust flows a richer, steadier love.

True friendship is never loud or demanding. It doesn’t drain or diminish. It feels bright, like a lighthouse. A lighthouse doesn’t chase ships. It has no need to plead for attention. It simply stands firmly rooted, shining its light consistently and clearly. The ships that are meant for that harbor find their way.

When we become steady within ourselves — clear in our boundaries, rooted in discernment, and open in heart — we naturally attract those who resonate with our light. These are the friends who walk beside us through storms and sunshine alike. These are the souls who honor differences, celebrate growth, and share mutual respect.

This is the essence of true friendship.

Navigating Change

If you are navigating friendship changes, energetic imbalances, or simply seeking greater clarity in your relationships, you may benefit from clearing old patterns and restoring your inner equilibrium.

Sometimes it isn’t about changing others. It is about strengthening your own lighthouse.
Through Energy Clearing & Alignment sessions, we gently release emotional residue, unhealthy attachments, and lingering energetic cords so you can stand in your own light with strength and peace.

When your light shines steadily, the right souls find their way to you. If you feel called, I invite you to explore how we can support you on that journey.

Blessings of Love and Discernment,
Lois 💛
